I have chosen to apply for the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine due to my interest for Chinese medicine. Since young, I have always been passionate in learning the Chinese culture, in which made me join a 2 year bi-cultural studies program to learn more about the integration of Chinese and western culture in the year 2013-2014. To further my understanding, I went through an bicultural immersion trip to Chongqing university and also underwent a english-chinese translation course. Now as I am on the crossroad to choose my university path, I am determined to further my studies in understanding Chinese culture through Chinese medicine. I am intrigued by the theoretical system of Chinese medicine , drastically different from the western medicine. I had chanced upon the BUCM during my research online on different universities and was instantly drawn toward the courses BUCM has to offer. I hope to be able to pursue my dreams of studying Chinese medicine in the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
I choose this University because of its program and its location. In addition, I have read informations that Beijing University has a collaboration with World Health Organization concerning Chinese Medicine research, and is one of the best Chinese Medicine Institute in China.
I lived in china in 2014-2015 for an international exchange program and fell in love with the country and its people. Now i want to combine both my love for China with my dream of becoming a doctor. Im very lively and hardworking so i believe that i can overcome my shortcomings at BUCM and learn more about the Chinese medicine. I might not have been a straight A Student in high school, but i believe that my strong and eager to start my studies is strong enough to be just as good if not better then my peers. I wanted to go to a school that looks though and hard. The only way to achieve great things is by pushing yourself to the limit, and i think i can do that at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.
I have always had passion for medicine, but not the western medicine, a natural way of healing people without leaving side effects on the patient's system. Due to my burning desire for natural healing, I attended FOUNTAIN UNIVERSITY, OSOGBO, NIGERIA for my first degree in BIOCHEMISTRY AND NUTRITION to understand the basics of human systems, what the systems yield to and what initiate or inhibit biochemical reactions. I graduated top of my class with 4.69CGPA on a scale of 5.0. Since the end of my first degree, I have been on the search for the best way to heal people naturally, Nigerian traditional systems are effective at a certain dose which is not documented, thereby making it a risk on patients health, I widened my search and came across TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM), I fell in love with it immediately and my mind was made up immediately to apply to china. Another challenge was to get a very good school of high quality educational, moral and social grade, I got a list which I filtered to fit my preference and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine made it to the top on my list, therefore, this is a very conscious effort to immerse myself in TCM in a school of high reputation.
