I chose this university due to its prestigious level of education. Also a large factor of my decision was the outstanding location of the university. The vibrant city of Tianjin, has a mixture of old culture as well as many modern skyscrappers towering over the city, therefore living here would be an amazing experience.

I personnally chose this university in particular first because i liked the approach this university takes to my course also the facilities here for my subject are second to none . Besides that ilearned that BTBU is a great place for international students where we interact with each other in an inspiring study environment and also it provides guidance and support from the start of our studies . During the summer of 2017, I travelled to China and enjoyed a 1 week intensive course in Mandarin at Tianjin Foreign Studies University. I was very impressed with the facilities such as the running arena, cafes and the classrooms at the University. I felt very comfortable on campus as the rooms and halls were very clean. The lecturers and students at the school were so welcoming and friendly. My experience at Tianjin Foreign Studies was only positive and I think very highly of this university. I would like the opportunity to enrolling in a course at Tianjin Foreign Studies University to further explore the university and also to participate in societies within the campus.
I have chosen to study at Tianjin Foreign Studies University because I have lived there before when I was selected for the Confucius Institute Scholarship to study in Tianjin from September 2016 - July 2017. I absolutely fell in love with the culture and language upon arrival in China and have been desperate to return ever since. During my stay I made great friends that I still keep in contact with, I participated in many cultural and sports activities and studied hard for my exams and HSK Level 4. I also studied for 5 months at Tianjin International Chinese College and still keep in contact with many of my teachers and fellow international students. I would relish the opportunity to continue my study of Mandarin for the next 4 years and live at the University that I love. Along with Chinese, I have also have a passion for Asian languages and Asian studies such as Korean. Korean has been a big part of my life since I was a child, achieving my Black Belt in Taekwondo at age 11. Tianjin Foreign Studies University offers a great course to combine the two subjects I would love to study most and this is why it is the University I have chosen. In the future, I would love to have a job involving Mandarin wether it be teaching others or in a business environment. I thoroughly look forward to studying a language as captivating and fascinating as Mandarin.

I have chosen this University to study at because I have lived there before, I have grown accustomed to the area and to the people I have met, TFSU has become a second home to me as I stayed there for 10 months on the Confucious Institute Scholarship September 2015-June 2016, the Staff at the Students are all very friendly and welcoming. I also chose this University because I have fallen in love with Tianjin and Chinese, this University has already been a home to me for only 10 months, I would like it to be my home again for 4 years. I want to be able to say I have been able to achieve my dream of further studying Chinese in China and at the University that I have been wanting to go to ever since I first saw it. I already have made a lot of friends and contacts within my 10 month stay last year and currently they are still there, I would like to be able to see them again and be able to proudly tell them that I am able to stay in Tianjin for longer than I did before. I know my way around the University and around Tianjin, I have the college that I studied at, where I am keeping in touch with my Mandarin Teachers. The college I studied at is Tianjin International Chinese College, there is where I achieved my HSK 4 pass. I throughouly enjoyed my life in Tianjin and the minute I left I wished to return, living there birthed my passion for learning languages as teaching others what I have learnt. Since returning to Scotland from my scholarship, I have made many friends with Chinese Tourists and Students and I also tutor Mandarin every weekend as my friend is applying for University in China and I decided that teaching him Mandarin would greatly enhance his life and allow him to ease into living abroad easily and comfortably. In my future I want to be able to teach others Mandarin with the knowledge and experience I gained from living in Tianjin, so that it will hopefully enhance their life giving them skills that will help in the future and also to allow others to achieve the dream of learning another language, especially a language as interesting and enriching as Mandarin is.
I've been in China for 10 months last year. It was an exchange program with my university in Barcelona, UAB. I applied for TFSU, I didn't even know where exactly was Tianjin ! Now, 1 year later, I know that Tianjin has become like my second home, I really felt like one local more. The university and the professors were amazing, a really good environment.
I wish to learn Chinese at Tianjin University. I have heard amazing things about the university and the teacher's skill at educating foreigners in Chinese language. I am eager and willing to learn as much as possible at this prestigious university.
