I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. I changed from a doctor to an engineer to a policeman and then to an artist depending on who gave me what on my birthdays. I just admired individuals, not their careers. As a child life was a piece of cake for me and I was too young to measure the weight of a mother’s sorrow whose kid died of malnutrition, a father’s anger whose wife and kids were hit by a drunk driver, a young man’s fear when convicted for a crime he never committed. I would not know who to help and how. However, all I knew was that I wanted to be rich. It all changed in my fourth year of high school when in my English class, we watched a TED Talk, “The dangers of a single story”, by Chimamanda Adichie and she talked about Fide, his houseboy whose single story she was told was that of poverty but not told the story of basket weaving and handcraft. Fide’s story made me realize that most of the poor are not poor because they don’t work rather because what they do is not as appreciated and developed that it could sustain them. Whenever I watched news at night with my parents, I would always ask them why other countries are highly developed with many super automatic devices and their communication was special, fast and on an advanced level whereas my country Rwanda is still on a low level. Rwanda is a developing country in a way that almost all areas including its technology, however much Rwanda is improving, it still lacks people who advanced skills and knowledge to enhance its development especially in its technology. Since then I decided I knew I wanted to do something about that, thus choosing electronics and communication engineering as my major. I have always wanted to study in china as it is my favorite country ever since I was a little girl, so I had to make a deep research about the best universities in china. Among the top five best universities, Wuhan University caught my attention; its campus, dormitories, the moral values of its students and the lifestyle of the whole community drove me to a more detailed research about the university. As a young boy growing up, I always had interest in medicine. This ambition grew even stronger when I witnessed my beloved grandfather lose his life due to diabetes. A sickness if he was well looked after by the medical doctors in my country would have probably stayed a little long than he did. There were far too many patients at the hospital but only few qualified medical doctors. My parents and I together with my grandfather waited for about almost 10 hours in the Out Patients Department before getting the time to even see the doctor. I still remember the exact words the doctor said as if it happened just a couple of seconds ago. He said “old man you look very weak and I am sorry for that but I have to keep you here till tomorrow because I have closed and I can’t attend to anymore patients. Little did I know that was my grandfather’s last day on this planet? Just if we had sufficient doctors to run shifts my grandfather might still be alive today. With this at the age of just five I said to myself that I would do everything possible to become a medical doctor so that people in my country wouldn’t suffer the same fate my grandfather did. Also I always had great interest in Science and Mathematics because of the influence both of these subjects have on our regular lives. I know studying medicine is a very expensive path to choose. It requires a lot of money and looking at the time involved it will involve paying huge sums of money especially when you want to pursue this career abroad. This great universities offer quality medical skills to people like me from Africa at a very affordable price in the great nation like China. With your reasonably priced tuition and cost of living I feel it will be a great opportunity for me to come and pursue my medical career at your university. With my good communication skills, great ability to work both as a member and a leader of a team and readily available to offer any help to other people if possible, I think giving me this opportunity will help me in talking a step closer to reaching my aim of becoming a medical doctor. Pakistan is also providing software engineering but they don't have the specialist teachers to deliver the knowledge to students and you can say that Pakistan is far behind in the field of software engineering in this modern era. Here the education is so costly and the education system is also worst in here, which means studying further here is not reasonable. I want to build up my foundations with strong education system. China education is more practicable and competitive than Pakistan. Transfer of knowledge from teachers to students towards encouragement of development and construction of knowledge, from courses and programs changing to the adaptation of the study environment, from the faculty professionalism to the quality of teaching and student learning and the early involvement of students in research work and projects. These facts affect me and that's why I choose china for further education.

My passion to do medicine started when I began learning biology in school. From general biology to biological systems each class seemed to get more interesting with new discoveries. This made me appreciate the human body more as I learned about the way that we are made to function and just how accurately all the systems in our body work together to keep us breathing. I found it incredibly fascinating that a two-stranded molecule called DNA contained all the biological instructions half from my mother, half from my father to make me as unique as I am. For me learning about the way this molecule is put together so precisely to be able to encode an organism’s phenotype was extremely intriguing and biology then became my favorite subject and I knew I wanted to be a doctor. This love for biology is what led me to do a week of work experience in Anandaban Hospital here in Nepal shadowing doctors trying to learn about the profession I wanted to be a part of so desperately in my future. Furthermore it was still this fascination with biology that led me to start tutoring year 12 students at my high school with A-level biology. Last year (Feb 2015-Jan 2016) I choose to use my college savings to spend a year in china, I had applied 3 different university and I was accepted into two of the three. I have already launched my career as young entrepreneur. My business can be understood as a simple food -supplier O2O (online to offline) service based on a B2B (Business to Business) system. I am the sole proprietor of the business with five employees, and we are still growing. O2O offers a service which enables organizations to make online orders for us to supply their employees with food either on normal working days or during events thus saving them a lot of man-hours. It may be a tried and true financial maxim, but this business has helped me understand that a good business strives on identifying and satisfying a need in the market, which is what precisely what O2O is doing. I have opted to do my studies in the field of finance at the Wuhan University because of its proven track record of training some of the best graduates in the field of finance. With friends and acquaintances that have passed through this institution, I have clearly seen the outstanding character and distinguished intellect of those who are alumni of Wuhan University. Furthermore, I am interested in joining an institution that will help me fulfill my dreams and sharpen my skills in the field in a fashion similar to the investors who first motivated me to pursue this field. In addition, by attending Wuhan University, I get to benefit from not only the quality education offered but also the extracurricular activities, as well as guidance from seasoned and respected business executives where I stand to learn a lot.

I really feel i want to achieve a world class education which would be made possible if i attended Wuhan University. This is due to my experiences i life which have shown me the negative outcomes of not achieving a world class. Personally i come from a family where my parents split up while i was very young my mum had a world class education as she attained a degree in business administration from Sweden and henceforth successful quite successful whereas my dad wasn’t as he dropped out of school earlier on. Due to the fact that my mum was employed abroad i had to stay with my dad here in Uganda. This is when i noticed how ignorance and lack of education can affect a person and the society as it leads to a lot of missed opportunities and poor decision making such as shunning modern ways of doing things, being easily ripped off all due to ignorance. I believe that if he had a world class education things would have turned out different for him as he would have made more informed choices and he would have been able to get better employment which would have affected him and the whole society around him positively. Due to his lack of stable employment and alcoholism problems i sometimes was even forced to think out of the box and work very hard to obtain some things i wanted to get which i believe he should have been giving me. Thankfully enough my mum who and her new husband have always supported me and are still willing to support me in my education Endeavour’s. So i hope that in can be given the chance to study at Wuhan University as i believe education is the most powerful weapon one can use to change the world. With all this said I hope my application is taken into consideration and that I am admitted to Wuhan University for a Bachelors degree in software engineering.
