I was a Student of Nanjing Normal University, and It was a really good experience, the teachers are excellent, they provided me the best method to learn chinese at that time. The reason I have chosen to apply for Nanjing normal university's Chinese language course is due to the fact that after coming to the city of Nanjing in the Summer of 2018 for six weeks I fell in love with not only the beautiful city but also the wonderful residents of Nanjing. This enables to avoid switching to English during breaks or social activities with classmates, and would allow me to further practice my Chinese outside of class. As I wish to push my Mandarin to pass HSK5 at the end of my stay, I chose Nanjing Normal University as I believe it offers the best environment and teaching excellency to focus on my Mandarin. Overall, the city of Nanjing is historically and culturally important, as a former capital of many dynasties and a rich past. I therefore intend on complementing my studies with cultural trips to attractions in Nanjing and its surroundings. Moreover, as Nanjing is well connected with the rest of China (for instance through it being on high-speed train line Beijing - Shanghai), it provides the opportunity to explore more Chinese cities during holidays. For all these reasons, I chose Nanjing Normal University for my semester in China, and I look forward to learning Chinese at its language programme.
The reputation Nanjing Normal University is very good. I did a lot of research in the internet and among friends in Asia. The teaching methods should be very efficient. The campus looks very nice. I also like the additional courses which are offered. I choose the city of Nanjing because I think it loooks beautiful. With the river and the green sourroundings it reminds of some nice cities of my area in Switzerland. Further there is a lot of culture to discover. Also according to my research there is not much dialect spoken. For all that reasons I really hope to spend a semester at Normal University in Nanjing.

I am choosing to apply to Nanjing Normal University as a general Chinese Language Program starting in the spring semester 2018. My reasons cover a wide sprectrum. Firstly, I am interested in learning chinese in an environment that fosters learning and values academic excelleny. My impressions of Nanjing Normal University and what I have heard through various sources supports what I have read on NNU´s website. Secondly I like the international environment at NNU, as I think cultural exchange and dialougue should be as diverse and open as possible, and this is the second thing that I hope to gain from my studies at NNU. I have already spent some time in Nanjing as a volunteer for the Goethe Language school that is integrated in the JESIE-Center, so I already feel connected to Nanjing and have become more and more interested in chinese language and culture.

I just spent a year in Shanghai as part of my studies. I re-discovered the pleasure of learning a foreign language during this year. I have already studied Chinese during Highschool but lost most of it due to lack of practice in France. However while i was searching for a study program in China i realized that Shanghai wasn't the best place to learn Chinese as its expat community is too big. After some stays in Nanjing and talking about the different universities in Nanjing with some Chinese Friends i chose to apply to your university. I currently am in France to work and aim to pass HSK2 before i come to study in China in order to begin on a good basis. My objective is to have an HSK4 Level by the end of the study year.
