I’m graduated from both International Human Resources and Communication, and I’ve always enjoyed learning and transfer my knowledge, for example to help people to align their work with their own values, which is part of my freelance job. However, even if I’ve travelled a bit these last years - especially in New-Zealand, Canada, Cambodia and Japan - I don’t manage to really integrate an international dimension to my job, and I really miss it. I would like to try enlarging my range of work possibilities in learning Chinese and Chinese culture. I’ve fallen for Chinese language only last august (2018), completely haphazardly, in watching a Chinese drama. Some days after, I’ve found a first online Chinese course that I am still following. And recently, there is a MOOC (massive open online course) about introducing to Chinese language, and another one introducing to Chinese culture, so I’m currently following both of them, and would like to learn more. If I’ve chosen to apply for the Yunnan University Chinese language program, it’s first of all because I’ve learned that my current living city, Nancy (in France), is the sister city of Kunming. So I’ve looked for more information about the city and the University. The location of Kunming seems ideal for experiencing Chinese and other asian cultures, and the University itself has a very good reputation, regarding its ranking and all the good feedbacks seen on different websites and forum. For all these different reasons, I would like to learn Chinese at the Yunnan University, but also discover Chinese culture, History, arts, craft, music, and so on. I then hope to be able to include this experience to my job.
I know some of students from Bangladesh who have been studying at this University. They gave me a very good report about the university. They told me that University is really helpful to the overseas students for learning Chinese Language and to sutuy further undergraduate degree. The tution fees per year is also reasonable. This is why I wish to study at this university to do my undergraduate study after my Chinese language course.

I choose Yunnan University because first of all it is the best university in Yunnan. I am very eager to improve my Chinese skills and I think that Yunnan University is very suitable for me. Yunnan is a very diverse province with many languages and cultures. Since I have always been interested in learning languages, this province and university are very appealing to me. It is also the perfect place to get to know more about the diverse culture of China. That knowledge would also help me with my further studies in my major Sinology at the Goethe University Frankfurt. I have visited Yunnan University before and it has always been one of my most liked place in Kunming. The long history of the univerity is very apparent when taking a stroll on the campus. The univeristy campus gives of a very calm atmosphere which to me seems like a good atmosphere to study. The learning enviornment plays are significant role in improving one's language skill therefore I believe that this university will help me to improve my Chinese the most. I wish to learn the Chinese language, and then study Business and Finance. I want to help with trade between China and Ethiopia, and I wish to help the manufacturing industry in Ethiopia using Chinese knowledge and supplies. Specifically, I wish to help start a tractor manufacturing factory that uses local steel, and imported parts for the engines, pumps, hydraulic hoses and hydraulic actuators and lifters, and wheels. Tractors are an essential part of food production. Ethiopia currently has 6000 tractors and could use about 2 million. This partnership between Ethiopia and China could help feed the 100 million people of Ethiopia and transform their economy towards a more developed nation.
As someone who has always been interested in the languages of the world, the Chinese language has always been a language I favored and have wanted to master for the longest time. As I finally decided to take learning the language seriously, Upon researching cities in China, I found Kunming to be the best learning environment for my needs and upon further research I found Yunnan University to be exactly what I was looking for. I joined a Chinese bridge winter camp for middle school students in 2016 in Yunnan University. Really enjoyed myself there and would like to enroll as a student there. As I have formerly been to this university as part of an cultural exchange programme from my home university which is Visva-Bharati Uiversity (Santiniketan) in 2013. The exchange programme was part of the MOU signed between Visva Bharati and Yunnan University.
A beautiful city with a temperate climate. Perfect beginning day of studies. I hope not too many people speak English, so that I can improve my Chinese language skills. Very acceptable price.
There are three main reasons I have chosen Yunnan University to do language study. First, I have a keen interest in the cultural richness of Yunnan Province. This variety is greatly manifest in Kunming. As an aspiring future anthropologist who wishes to work on Yunnan, I want to have more first-hand exposure with the linguistic and cultural context of the province. There is no better way to do that than study Mandarin Chinese in Yunnan's best university. Second, I have already been to Kunming before, in the summer of 2014, and I instantly fell in love with the city. This brief visit made me want to return and spend a longer time there. Finally, Yunnan Province and Yunnan University, in particular, hosts great anthropologists that I am very interested to meet. Equipped with a good knowledge of Mandarin Chinese and having had a great experience in my future fieldwork location, I hope to start my PhD in social anthropology with a focus on China in the autumn of 2017.

I find the seclusion or rather the size of the town enables myself to learn the language most efficiently in that setting. Small towns are more family-oriented and the climate seems nice.

I would like to study in Yunnan given the geographical and cultural diversity of the region.
