Scholarship Detail

This program provides a full-coverage scholarship that grants a tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, monthly living allowance RMB3,000, and comprehensive insurance.

Note:
1. Applicants who have passed the material review will take the interview by SUFE (face to face or online interview)
2. Scholarship winners shall not change their host university, field of study, or duration of study stipulated on the Admission Letter.
3. Those who are studying China now and will graduate in June 2022 *cannot apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizens at least 18 years of age, in good health and without criminal record

2. Applicants for postgraduate programs should hold bachelor’s degree or above and be under the age of 35.

3. TOEFL (550/paper-based test, 80/internet-based test) or IELTS (6.5)

9. Personal statement. It should be 1000 words in maximum including the applicant's education and working experience, study plan, research findings, etc.

10. Two academic references. It should be recent, dated, in English/Chinese, on letter-headed paper and with referee's (professor or associate professor) contact details.

Overview

The LL.M. (Master of Laws) program is a two-year degree program offered by the School of Law of SUFE. The program is attracting intellectually curious and thoughtful candidates from a variety of cultural backgrounds and with various career plans. The diversity of the participants in the LL.M. program contributes significantly to the educational experience of all students at the School. The international students have the chance to study and live alongside Chinese students, making strong personal and professional relationship that will help in their future lives and careers.

The LL.M. program is rich in courses emphasizing transnational law and practice, Chinese and western law and legal traditions, and cutting-edge courses designed to equip graduates of all nationalities for law practice and leadership in advanced economies. The program will lay a solid foundation of legal theories, law principles, and professional knowledge of economic law, civil & commercial law. Meanwhile, it focuses on practical training in observing, analyzing, and studying legal issues, which cultivates competent professionals in economic law, civil and commercial law, and other related fields upon graduation. LL.M. graduates will go on to distinguished careers in private or public sector, public interest legal work, and legal academia around the world.

Students will learn with high qualified, experienced academics and benefit from their knowledge and experience. The Law School has profound connections with various local government bodies and people’s courts, law firms, securities companies, commercial banks, insurance companies, fund companies and multi-national companies. Students of the LL.M. program, if meeting the requirements, can visit, interview or have an internship in one of the aforementioned institutions with the recommendation of SUFE.

Students need to obtain 35 credits (See Curriculum as follows) in total, take all mandatory courses, pass all course examinations, complete a thesis in English, and pass the oral defense before obtaining the degree.
