Eligibility

a. Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.

c. Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.

Documents You Need to Provide

1. Application form and Application Form for Scholarship(in Chinese or English).

2. Notarized master’s degree diploma (photocopy).
Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school.
Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
Student also need to get degree diploma photocopy notarzied in the local Chinese embassy, and mail a copy of it to CUCAS office.

3. Master’s degree academic transcripts.
Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
Student also need to get degree transcript photocopy notarzied in the local Chinese embassy, and mail a copy of it to CUCAS office.

4. A Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinese or English with a minimum of 800 words.

5. Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.

6. Applicants for music studies are requested to submit a CD of their own works.
Applicants for fine arts programs must submit a CD of their own works which include two sketches, two color paintings and two other works.

7. Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy should be kept by the applicant).
The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid.
Please select the appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

8. Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose it in the application package.

9. English-Taught Courses have to submit IELTS 6.0 or above, copy of TOEFL 80 or above.

4. About International Student Center

Editor Notes: International Student Center are responsible for all international students' affairs.

USTB International Student Center, which takes charge of making overall plan in development of international student education, management and coordination in students affairs, has four divisions: integrated office, office of recruitment and programs, office of students affairs, and foreign language teaching center. In July 2013, USTB has been approved by the Ministry of Education to be one of the first "Demonstration Base of Studying in China".
Every year, the International Student Center will provide a rich variety of colorful internship and extra-curriculum activities for international students. They have the chance to pay a visit to industrial and commercial enterprises, to the scenery spots such as Forbidden City and the Great Wall; they can also participate in singing, dancing, painting, calligraphy competitions, "Star of Chinese" competition, Chinese debate competitions, as well as sport competitions and New Year parties.
