I had originally planned to start my Master's program as soon as my contract with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics ended this February, but there's no programs available in the Spring, so I decided to take this time to search for an intensive language course. While my knowledge of ancient China is formidable, I still have trouble understanding aspects of the language. For months, I researched various institutions and compared facets of each to make my final decision based on reputation, availability, history, and the amount of hours per week would be devoted to in-class study (the more, the better), it turned out that Zhejiang Gongshang University satisfied all of my requirements. My hopes are to improve my HSK level to 4. I believe I am close to level 3, but I have an official document that says my level is 2 from several years ago. I have tried various online programs but I find that each one I've used is lacking in one aspect or another. Nothing can replace in-class teaching, to me. I look forward to getting back into the classroom.

I′ll be the first to admit that I know little about China and it′s language(s). That is to say that what I "know" is factual at all. Let me elaborate. I being born in Argentina, and raised in the United States, but being of Italian blood have been subjected to a most interesting education and view of the world. My earliest pre-tertiary education being characterized by a bookish reluctance that led my to ignore my formal studies and bury my head into what interested me; regardless my voracious reading habits allowed me to equal and frequently surpass my peers in reading, writing, history and social studies. In my university experience in my birth country of Argentina I delved into law, even though I had no previous exposure to the subject, out of pure personal curiosity. Now having faced economic hardships I′ve returned to my family's home in Spain to consider my options. Most in my position would choose to study here or in a neighbouring nation. Not me. No I wish to pursue my higher education in China and study furthermore it′s laws. ？Why this? The reason is two fold. First my upbringing in the Occident has led me to have an equally exotic and skewed image of China that makes me curious to explore it in person. Secondly I wish into an academic subject of which I have no contact with outside of curiosity, this might seem foolhardy to some, but I regard it as intellectual curiosity.
