Ive been enrolled at the MBBS course for this Uni. So my review is strictly about the medical college, the staff, teaching quality, accommodation, etc..
Pros:
-Its cheaper than in other countries i.e US, UK, AUSTRALIA, INDIA, etc..
-Their degree is recognized by WHO, so you should be able to work abroad.
Cons:
-The teachers do not speak English, yet they are required to instruct the students in English. How are you going to teach complex medical concepts and terminology if you have a hard time pronouncing simple words and forming basic sentences? There are teachers who speak better English but "magically" the once that end up teaching the curriculum are almost always the once who can barely put two words together. As a result, the teaching quality is subpar and leaves much to be desired. Get used to teachers NOT explaining anything, not making eye contact with the students, barely interacting with anyone, just clocking in during the lesson painfully reading a set of slides riddled with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes then clocking out.
-There are no textbooks, the exams are based on the PPT which are often outdated and at times are translated directly from google translate so they make no sense. Yet, youre expected to remember everything word for word or you risk losing marks because the teachers wont understand you if you paraphrase your answer because they dont know English.
-The administration is disorganized and the staff is unfriendly and rude! They threaten the students with expulsion and failure if they dont do as they please. The students are often times scared of confronting the staff because they feel threatened so they just get along with it. The factualty has no morals or ethics they will play favoritism even during finals. If they know you theyll let you cheat even if they see you do it, but if you happen to be someone they dont like then theyll definitely punish you for cheating. Basically, if youre their favorite the rules wont apply to you...
-The syllabus is a joke, everything on it is a lie. You wont actually be taking 200+ credits the minimum requirement is 189.5 credits. The syllabus also lists a couple of ELECTIVE COURSES that the SCHOOL will CHOOSE FOR YOU! So, you wont even have the opportunity or the freedom to say pick psych as an elective course instead of sociology.
-The grades are suspect, students pass in exams they dont sit for and vice versa. Which really makes me question the integrity of the scoring system. Teachers can be too emotional and far too vindictive in the way they assign grades to the students, if some students dont show up to their class they will punish the entire batch by cutting down their marks or strictly grading their papers or just handing them 60 regardless of whether that was actually deserved or not.
-The internship year is a joke, you dont actually get to interact with the patients. Most of them dont want anything to do with you as a foreign student anyways but its not like youre even allowed to examine the patients. At most youll be assisting doctors with delivery at the OBGYN ward, at worst youll be standing there like an idiot to mark your attendance for the day, as a result, youll be way behind compared to those who are interning in other countries.
-The rules and regulations are non-transparent, and theyre constantly changing oftentimes against the benefit of the student. If you were to face any issues you will not get the support or help you need from the administration. There are no counselors or advisors that can step in and help. So, youre pretty much on your own.
-The dorms at the medical campus are old and awful. Theyre extremely dirty and in need of renovation. The building is filled with trash and there are rats, cockroaches, worms, and other insects. The rooms are super small and cant possibly fit two people, yet due to how small the building is, it is against the rules to have your own room. The building can barely fit everyone as it is, and its very hard for most students to find a room even though the school is meant to always provide the students with enough rooms.
Overall, dont waste your time. There are way better options out there to study MBBS in China. You should look at universities like Wuhan University, Dalian Medical school or even Nanjing Medical University. Theyre not excellent by any means but theyre somewhat better.

Am just about to leave this school... if i could go back to my younger self i would say DO NOT GO TO SEU!!!! They dont care about your education just your money. The only people who have made it out of this school and succeeded have done it by themselves, the school does not help at all. Most times its as if you are disturbing them... save yourself the time and money, go to nanjing university or zhejiang. Just dont come here..... i am warning you!!!

Probably the worst Univ to be part of. Management is weakest and is full of corrupt guys, expect to give something under the table if you want your work to be done... And never ever expect to get your prize money because you'll never ever get that..Will make you cry because of their fees policy. Won't help you and won't hear you out even a bit. One of the most expensive school. Why pay for a college of same standard or even worse than other Chinese Univ?Professors maybe knowledgeable but what's the use of it if he/she cannot explain.They'll simply read their ppt with their worst imaginable accent.

Campus facilities : basketball courts not bad... but not much campus activities in the city.. you have to look outside for activities Administration: Staffs are rude and unfriendly..don't know why they act like this to foreigners.. seem like they only care when they ask for the tuition fees otherwise anything u ask them would be bothering them Teaching: Most teachers are not fluent in english so u would be lucky to get the ppts and learn by yourself... Curriculum: Very bad organisation of curriculum.. u get results on a small piece of paper (are u kidding me?) Value for money: Extremely expensive for the this quality of education. People (teachers and staffs) don't take you seriously here unless money is being involved like paying the tuition fees thats where they are really serious. Cafeteria: not much variety of food..mostly chinese food. Accomodation: No mattress provided,.,u'll sleep on wood.

The university is excellent, if and only if you are fluent in Chinese and are planning to study your course in Chinese. For the non-Chinese speakers, please DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME The English courses are shit!!!!

I'm an architecture student..currently at Sipailou. Campus facilities - Not much activities around. If there is any activity you would be lucky to be notified. Administration - staffs not not very welcoming, can be rude sometimes and give the feeling that you are annoying them. Teaching Quality - Teachers are good but not fluent in English and you won't learn as much as your chinese counterpart. As a result, You would be treated like a low level student with low intelligence even if you are intelligent. Chinese students won't even bother helping you for a long time so you are on your own. Curriculum - Okay. Value for money - Not worth the money, too expensive for this poor quality of teaching and daily life experience Cafeteria - Okay.Not much variety though Accomodation - The dorm is really crappy, bed without matress, cockroach everywhere (daily cleaning won't help).

The first thing u would notice when u arrive is its beautiful campus....that's the only thing that would clam you ..and suffice you....for rest you would question your luck for getting admission in SE......teaching leaves with much to be desired....locals too aren't friendly..... Dormitory too needs some attention.....being expensive it leaves u with nothing

Everything about this university is bad.....things are too expensive.... staff is very average when it comes to communication with students.... Teachers too dont seem to be that engaged with the students......management too is bad....had some paper problems with them......it ain't that difficult to realise that there is discrimination shown by staff....accomodation too is crap.......Just waste if money...Try NANJING MUCH BETTER

please try for other uni. in CHINA this one is the worst i have seen...please dont be fool by the campus beauty it aint worth taking admission for..dont risk your future for it..they have rude admission officerS who might EVEN MAKE SOME rude comments on u......this university is run by ministry.....they even reject some admission form saying you dont match their confidential criteria ........please my friends save your fathers money and stay miles away fROM SE UNIVER.

Actually im living at jiulonghu and really this campus is beautiful and espcially the infrastructure is wonderful!! I like it :) But to not to be boring there you have just to find something good to do and enjoy this great university!! :) Above all the university is a good one ♥
