DEAR EVERYONE WHO WANT TO STUDY IN ZJGSU, DO NOT APPLY TO STUDY IN THIS WORST UNIVERSITY, CIE OR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CENTER DONT EVEN CARE ABOUT YOU ONCE YOU PAID THE TUITION FEE AND ACCOMMODATION FEE.
CIE NOT EVEN HAVE CONTACT OR LATEST UPDATE WITH ANOTHER FACULTY, SO WHAT IS INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CENTER FOR?
LET ME GIVE ME EXAMPLE, THE OFFICE PEOPLE DIDNT KNOW WHAT THEY DOING, THEY JUST THROW YOU LIKE A PINGPONG BALL FROM THIS PLACE TO ANOTHER PLACE, THEY WILL SAY, YOU SHOULD SEE THIS person IN THIS BUILDING, ONE YOU VISIT THE PERSON THAT THEY MENTION, THE PERSON MENTIONED IN BACK THAT WE HAVE TO GO TO SEE ANOTHER PERSON OR EVEN WORST TO SEE THE 1ST PERSON WHO suggests US TO SEE THIS PERSON,
THEY DONT EVEN EMPATHY ABOUT YOUR SITUATION, WHAT THEY CARE IS JUST MONEY , MONEY AND MONEY, THEY WILL SCARED YOU BUY NOT GIVING YOUR DEGREE OR EXTEND YOUR VISA AND WILL DEPORATE YOU IF YOU DIDNT PAY TUITION FEE AND ACCOMODATION FEE, SERIOUSLY?
CIE OR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CENTER IS TOTALLY A SCAM, THEY DONT EVEN TAKING CARE OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS,
THE ENVIRONMENT ITSELF IS SO DISGUSTING, PEOPLE DRINKING LIKE NOBODY CARE TILL LATE MORNING. ONCE YOU SCOLD THEM THEY EVEN SCOLD YOU BACK, LOOK AT THIS KINDA ATTITUDE, SCHOOL CLEARLY NOT FILTERIZE THEIR STUDENTS, THEY JUST ACCEPT ACCEPT AND ACCEPT THE STUDENT, AS LONG AS IS BRING MONEY FOR THEM.
TEACHER ITSELF NOT REALLY GOOD AT ENGLISH COMMUNICATION, THEY MIGHT GOOD AT KNOWLEDGE IF THEY SPEAK CHINESE, BUT NOT IN ENGLISH.
AND ONE THING, DO NOT GET FALL TO SCHOLARSHIP THAT THEY OFFER IN 1ST YEAR, THEY WILL TALK TO YOU IN EXHIBITION OR INTERNET OR EMAIL, I WILL GIVE YOU SCHOLARSHIP FOR 1 YEAR IF YOU STUDY WITH US, THINKI AGAIN, THEY ONLY GIVE YOU 1 YEAR, AND EXPECT YOU TO PAY ANOTHER 3 YEARS.
SO TELL YOUR PARENT DO NOT FALL INTO DISCOUNT OR SCHOLARSHIP, IT IS GOOD TO HELP THE FINANCIAL, BUT IT IS NOT EQUAL AS KNOWLEDGE AND QUALITY OF PEOPLE THAT YOU PAY FOR..
TRUST ME ALL STUDENTS IN ZJGSU IS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE MANAGEMENT, MANAGEMENT NOT EVEN TRYING TO FIND SOLUTION OR AT LEAST WIN-WIN SOLUTION, IS MORE LIKE THEIR WIN AND WE ARE LOSE.
DORMITORY IS LIKE HELL AND PRISONERS, CURFEW TIME AT 10 PM. WE PAID FOR IT, WE HAVE RIGHT AT any time THAT WE WANT TO GO BACK. IF YOU BACK AFTER 10PM, THEY LOBBY GUY OR GIRL WILL SCOLD YOU LIKE YOU JUST SNEAK OUT FROM YOUR MOTHER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
ONCE AGAIN DO NOT FALL INTO SCHOLARSHIP OR ANYTHING THAT THIS SCHOOL OFFERING.

Within a month, I realised it was a mistake to come into this university. So, I worked hard to get my 100% tuition fee refund and escaped from this shameful university :D
The Students accommodation’s cleanliness, safety and study atmosphere is the worst I came across (compare with ME, Europe, UK, Thailand, Malaysia and US). To add, the CIE staff at university are not interested in solving the problems and all what they care about is not to get them exposed or to expose the situation to public. The students at international accommodation are noisy, drinking at rooms and partying till 3am and they are not interested in study!
The security staff are not speaking English, once I had an emergency case due to some drunk people tried to enter my room therefore, I called Police to explain the case in English. The funny part that CCTV cams were not working and only evidence we had is my mobile recorded video

This is the worst institute you can ever go to get your degree. The teaching staff cannot speak English, accomodation facilities are in no good condition, old furniture is never replaced. Word of advice, take your money some place else where you are guaranteed to get a real education. This school is a sham.

It is very unsafe to study in this university. I have been here for only half a year now and the same group of students keeps atttacking international students in xiasha (university district) The school does NOT provide any help for the international students. We are completely on our own. So if you want to be safe, do NOT chose this school. You will spend an unnecessary amount of money for a black eye, a broken rip and no service. Very, very poor service, and disrespectful staff.

If you are thinking of applying to this university, think again.
Here is what you will get when studying here:
1. Your application process will be fast and smooth but once you get in (which you will, since the university doesnt have any selection criteria for applicants) your positive experience will be over, since there is little to no assistance on filing paperwork, giving directions upon your arrival, assisting with registration, accommodation, getting around, language difficulties and so on
2. The dorms provided by school are filled with roaches, have no heating except the poorly working AC, hot water is supplied a few hours a day and only if you purchase a prepaid hot water card, no kitchen, poor Internet connection, night curfew... this list goes on. Renting a room around the campus is not an option either, since the school is located way far from the city center
3. The selection of courses is scarce and does not meet international standards, you will not get the level you expect and pay for, classes get cut or cancelled, the length of one course can be literally one lecture. This especially sucks for those who choose the university for their first degree
4. The so called professors will not give a damn about your progress and research work. You will be completely on your own facing Chinese academic requirements but having no clue on how to meet them. That inevitably leads to failing your exams, the final paper and eventually staying for another semester/year at your own cost, obviously
5. The fees are expensive compared to other schools in the area, however the insurance does not cover most of students medical issues, you have to pay extra for accommodation (the fee gets 2-3 times expensive every year), visa extensions, electricity, Internet, hot water and other utilities, whereas the value for money as seen above is zero. In addition, the school itself tries to make more money by witholding scholarships from excellent students, deliberately makes studying harder for students to force them to stay another semester/year. Yes. this is how bad it can get
6. As mentioned previously, the location of the campus is far from downtown, which may be fine for local students, but if you are coming with the hope to explore beautiful Hangzhou with its culture and scenery, be prepared to spend your money and time (1-2 hours each way) on traveling. Besides, there is not much of a shopping scene around and if you cannot use Chinese online stores, you will feel completely abandoned by civilization most of the time. This is not to mention the poor choice, quality and hygiene of small suburban Chinese eateries in the area
7. Normally when you go to study abroad you get lots of international friends as well as learn more about local people and culture. Well, thats not the case with this school, since most of the local students are quite racist or refuse to communicate with foreigners for some other reasons (language barrier for instance), and most of the international students will come from very few Asian and African countries, which isnt exactly a diversity in my opinion. This is most likely the case with many second-rate schools in Hangzhou, however if an international feeling is something you look for, choose another school
8. Last but not least is the language problem, which could be quite bothering if you are coming with zero level of Mandarin. Most of the teachers and other staff around campus do not speak English and you will have a hard time asking for assistance, not to mention basic communication. Again, this is supposed to be a school accommodated for foreigners, however the reality hits you very fast.
All in all, if those reasons are not enough for you think about how much money your parents will waste and how they wont be sure if you dont feel cold in your room or dont get food poisoning or dont get covered by insurance in case an emergency happens. This would be the last school I would send my kids to if I were to send them to China.
If you really consider the area, try to apply to Zhejiang University, or search for schools in Shanghai (there is literally no difference in living cost between Hangzhou and Shanghai anymore), where they know how to treat foreigners and give you the real knowledge. Dont waste your precious college time.

In my experience, its the best language school for low budget students. But the Jack Laoshi of chinese language is my favorite teacher. i m really impressed by him and would like to study again in his class.

Moving to China was not easy but it got better very quickly. Living in Xiasha allows you to be far enough from downtown (40 minutes metro ride) which helps me practice my Chinese a lot. Overall great experience.
