Duke Kunshan has prepared me for a career in international business allowing me to experience first-hand both the American and Chinese business cultures. With a global point-of-view and exceptional academic training, I feel quelified to take my place in the world of international business.

I am Justin Bryant, a student at Duke Kunshan. I hear a lot of new ideas from my fellow students that I dont hear back in the States. It forces me to think a lot deeper about where I am coming from, and about how I form my ideas. After my Duke Kunshan experience, I feel I am a stronger individual, more self-assured and aware. Now I believe I can make that difference in the world, that I have always wanted to make.

I am a Global Learning Semester student here, and I think Duke Kunshan University is a fabulous place to study and live. The classes here are pretty cool and inspiring, and the professors are very responsible and passionate. We have small classes where students can experience a depth of learning and interesting brainstorming. As for the campus, it has super beautiful sceneries and convenient facilities like gym and adequate team rooms. You will never get bored with various activities, performances, field trips and lectures here.

I have attended Duke Kunshan University for one semester, and now I am really convinced that it has the ability of preparing highly-motivated students for the globalized 21st century through its wholly immersive liberal arts and sciences education.

Change starts with people--my peers, instructors, advisors, professional contacts, and community partners. In fact, all of the people I meet at Duke Kunshan shape my overarching experience and broaden my understanding of the world. Among them, I benefit most from the international faculty, all of whom have been recruited from top global institutions and many of whom are Duke Professors. They not only serve as teachers, advisors, mentors, but also friends bringing their distinctly relevant experience and wisdom to us. Then, I also learn much from my classmates from diverse backgrounds. We are brought to the same classes to explore the similarities and differences between cultures and to discover how people with disparate world views can be brought together for the greater good. We build relationships with each other by sharing perspectives, trying to understand each others’ world views. So much learning comes from interacting with them instead of exclusively coming from an institution. People here open doors for each other. The world once distant and closed become immediate and open.

All in all, I am extremely motivated at Duke Kunshan University. It teaches me to become a thinker and doer who have the knowledge and technical competence to meet the most complex challenges. Duke Kunshan’s immersive cross-cultural learning environment really opens my mind to all possibilities. I am surprised where it takes me.
