Entry Requirements

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports. applicants who have emigrated abroad and acquired foreign nationality must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for 4 years or more (before April 30th, 2023), and have more than 2 years of residence in foreign countries during this period (The actual residence in a foreign country for more than 9 months in a year can be calculated as one year, subject to the entry and exit stamps).

Applicants should be in good health both mentally and physically and without infectious diseases according to The Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China and relevant regulations of JZMU.

Applicants with non-criminal records.

Applicants with a financial guarantee.

Applicants must be holders of a high school diploma or above with good academic records.

Applicants should be between 18 and 30 years old.

Applicants should have good English language proficiency (which can be verified from the oral English test organized by JZMU); for non-native English speakers who apply for undergraduate Clinical Medicine English-taught programs, a score report of English proficiency test (IELTS ≥6.0, each of the four areas≥5.0; Internet-based TOEFL≥70, each of the four areas≥15) or equivalent certificates should be provided. A score report of English proficiency test is not needed for native English speakers or applicants who were taught in English in high school, but they should offer English scores and certification of being taught in English provided by the high school they graduated from.

Program Description

1. Program Introduction

Editor Notes: This program includs three parts, which are Chinese culture and natural science courses, other 6 courses, and internship.

1.1 Chinese culture and natural science courses

  • To promote students' learning and life in China and contact with patients in their medical practice.
  • International students must learn the Chinese language during the whole undergraduate medical program in English.​

1.2 Other courses

Students should also pass the examinations of these courses respectively.

1.3 Internship

  • The School provides the reasonable arrangement of the internship. 
  • The internship should be done in one year (at least 48 weeks).​

1.4 Admission deposit

  • Once admitted, students are required to pay $1000 as admission deposit after interview before issuing admission package and JW 202.
  • Only US dollar can be accepted.
  • The admission deposit can be used as part of tuition fee.
  • When paying tuition fee, the deposit will automatically deduct the tuition fee of the same value.

3. Degree Awarded

Editor Notes: The internship is arranged in the sixth year and students will do it in China.

  • Students will be helped to choose a hospital from the 9 affiliated hospitals.
  • The final examination on Theory Test and Clinical Evaluation must be taken before Graduation.
  • Students should complete the requirements of the teaching program and pass the graduation examinations successfully.
  • Graduates will get a graduation certificate and a medical degree given by the host institution.
  • The degree in the English copy of will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

4. Internship and Career

Editor Notes: Students can choose to do it in China, their home country or any other country.

  • Students can do the internship in the First Affiliated Hospital of LMU, which has 910 beds and 1820 staff in the hospital accepting 15,000 inpatients per year. 
  • The hospital includes 127 experts and 378 senior professional technology personnel. 
  • Students don't need to meet any requirement on the HSK level to attend internship in China, but students need to be able to communicate with patients simply.
  • If students obtain MBBS degree, they can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council to get registered and practice medicine.  
  • Students with MBBS degree can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. 
  • Graduates can also open up his own clinic or pursue study for master's degree.

Notes:

  • After students pay their application fees, the School will start the visa application procedure.
  • In the first year, students should pay all the fees within one week after their arrival.
  • The Internet connection in students' room(30RMB/month) should be paid separately.
  • The electricity and water used in their room should be paid separately.
