Scholarship Detail

1.Full Scholarship

a. A fee waiver of tuition, registration, laboratory experiments, internship, and basic textbooks.
b. Cost of experiments or internships beyond the program curricula is at student's own expense.
c. Cost of books or learning materials other than required basic textbooks is at student's own expense.
d. Free on-campus dormitory accommodation, or an off-campus accommodation allowance of CNY 10000 per year.
e. A living allowance of CNY1,500 per month.

Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2. Education background and age limit:
Applicants for the master's degree program must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35.

3. Applicants must agree to obey the relevant laws of the PRC and meet the admission requirements of the host universities or colleges.

4. Applicants must have a good academic record.

5. Applicants cannot be recipients of other scholarships offered by Chinese government, local governments or other organizations simultaneously.

1. Scanned copy of the passport photo page.

2. Bachelor degree diploma / degree certificate (notarized photocopy).
Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

3. Bachelor degree academic transcripts (notarized photocopy)
Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

4. Recommendation letters: Applicants for postgraduate studies must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors with contact details of referees.

b. Duration: This scholarship is for the first academic year. (You can reapply this scholarship or other scholarships offered by the university the next year.)

1. Goal

Goal of the major is to improve the student's ability to initiate and carry out a novel research project in the areas relevant to Chinese Law, Foreign Law or International law, aiming to make the student the expert in one field of the law.

2. Objectives

Editor Notes: In order to achieve the goal of this major, following objectives are to be accomplished by the time the candidate completes the 2 years' courses.  

A. With correct outlook on life and values, good moral character, strict style of study, strong sense of enterprise and pioneering spirit.
B. With firm grasp of the basis theory of law, professional knowledge and practical skill, professional development and frontiers; being competent of reading and writing studying papers; with the ability to independently carry out scientific research work, being competent in the specialized field of teaching, research, and law-related enterprise survey; with a better understand of the theories, techniques, and methods in the field of Chinese Law, Foreign Law and International Law.

4. Degree Requirements

Editor Notes: Graduate students are required to complete at least 30 course credits and dissertation research and oral examination of the thesis within 2 years.

The term of studying is two years. The graduate students for master of laws are required to accomplish at least 30 course credits which should be earned from the courses you will take, and the credits for degree courses should be more than 18, The completion of 30 credits-courses is usually within one year, while the additional 1 year is used to complete the dissertation research and oral examination of the thesis.

7. Practice Process and Requirements

Editor Notes: Students are required to participate in academic seminar and experts forum during their study.

Graduate students are required to participate in the professional teaching practice, including the guidance of undergraduate learning, writing case analysis reports and homework to complete at least 60-70 hours of work. The practice process will be reviewed by the teachers in charge of teaching. Q: If I failed to get the scholarship, is the money refundable?
A: No, because the application process for this scholarship is complicated and hard to deal with. We need a very long time to help you apply it. As a result, it is not refundable.


Q: When can I know the result whether I get the scholarship or not?
A: Generally, the result will come out around mid-February for Spring Intake and around May to June for Autumn Intake.


Q: When will I get the admission documents?
A: The admission documents, including Admission Letter, Scholarship Confirmation and Visa Letter, will be delivered to you 1-2 months before the course starts.


Q: Why should I pay the service fee in advance?
A: Scholarship application takes time, effort and resource in both CUCAS and universities, and the process is irreversible. In case of casual applications and attempts, we charge service fee in advance. There is no extra cost or hidden charge.
