Program Description

Project Introduction

The English-taught doctoral program  (International Law)aims to actively support the country's pursuit of distinctive major-country diplomacy, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity and a new type of international relations. It seeks to advance cooperation and exchange with countries around the world, especially developing nations in areas such as international trade, foreign investment, intellectual property rights, and environmental protection. The program fully leverages the role of international law in service and protection, aiming to cultivate a large number of high-end,multi-disciplinary legal talents among International students who understand and befriend China.
This project is designed to cultivate individuals with a solid foundation in international law, possessing cross-cultural communication skills, and global competence as high-level legal professionals.

Training Objectives

(1) Understanding of China: Acquire knowledge and understanding of China's historical culture, political system, and diplomatic policies. Grasp mainstream values and public moral concepts in Chinese society, and demonstrate respect for and adherence to Chinese laws, policies, and public ethics.
(2) Professional Qualities: Possess a broad academic perspective, excellent academic integrity, and strong theoretical knowledge in international law, international relations, and country-specific law. Stay informed about the latest academic developments in the discipline, proficiently use research materials to write literature reviews, independently compose professional academic papers, and be competent in engaging in research and practice of international law. Demonstrate the ability to innovate, apply, and develop theories, skills, and methods within the discipline, gaining a competitive advantage in international legal services.
(3) Cross-cultural and Global Competence: Develop awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and legal skills that embrace and adapt to cultural diversity. Play an active role in promoting mutual respect, understanding, and unity among different ethnicities, societies, and countries. Possess effective communication skills and be
capable of facilitating cooperation, legal, and cultural exchanges.
(4) Actively participate in various academic activities and smoothly engage in academic exchanges at international conferences.
(5) Chinese Language Proficiency: Attain at least Level 3 proficiency in the "International Chinese Language Proficiency Standards" by the time of graduation.
