The BA Digital Media Arts programme is the result of a collaboration between the School of Film and Television Arts and the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, providing students with practical skills in digital media production and thus enabling them to produce content for the growing array of digital media platforms that constitute such a significant area of our contemporary media experience.
This programme aims to equip students with the skills, knowledge and understanding of digital media production, and with a critical and theoretical grounding in media studies and in the contexts and industries of film, television, and digital media. Areas covered include film and TV production and post-production, digital media arts, computer graphics, and computer game design.
With the curriculum delivered in English and drawing on XJTLU’s international education model, graduates will be well equipped in both language, subject-specific skills and critical abilities to work in local, national and international creative media industries or to progress onto further specialist study.
The programme benefits from a fully functional digital media lab, which will be supplemented by a brand-new dedicated School of Film and Television Arts building, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. These facilities will include film and television studios, digital media laboratories and post-production facilities running industry-standard software and hardware platforms. You will work with dedicated, research-active international staff (film makers, directors and producers, and academics) with practical experience in digital media arts and in communication and media teaching. The programme is accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Education and the University of Liverpool.
