The major is to cultivate the interdisciplinary talents who have broad theoretical basis, professional knowledge and practical ability in electric engineering and automation, can engage in equipment manufacturing, system operation, automatic control, information processing, experimental analysis，technological development and computer application.
The graduates master the basic theory and design of electric control system, can carry out the relevant engineering practice training, have the abilities of designing common automatic control system, motor speed control system and power supply system of factories.

The graduates can pursue the master degree of related majors. In electric control, electric drive and power supply fields, they also engage in research and teaching in scientific research institutes and universities, engaged in design, operation, maintenance of electric equipment and management in enterprises.
