Founded in 1965, Guangxi International Business Vocational College is affiliated to the Department of Commerce of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a state-funded full-time higher education institution aiming at cultivating international applied talents to meet the needs of modern business development, and the cradle of cultivating business managers in Guangxi.

On January 2020, the college has been included in " high-level advanced vocational schools", and the majors of Cross-border Commerce has been included in Guangxi key majors. In the past 50 years of college running course, the major of cross-border commerce has been approved as the high-level major group construction project of the autonomous region and the college has been recognized as the "Top 50 vocational colleges of international influence" among the higher vocational colleges, and the "advanced unit in China-ASEAN EXPO voluntary services" for 11 consecutive years, also the "Talent Highland for Promoting the Construction of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area in Guangxi".

The college currently has three campuses, including Campus of Daxue Road in Nanning, Campus of ASEAN Campus in Wuming and the Campus in Fangchenggang, covering a total area of more than 1200000㎡. By November 2021, there are nearly 19,000 Full-time vocational students.

The college is characterized by modern business, and has a team of teachers with reasonable structure, high quality, distinctive characteristics, and a combination of full-time and part-time jobs. There are nearly 900 faculty members. There are 11 secondary schools with 48 majors, including School of International Trade, School of Applied Foreign Languages, School of Accounting, School of Modern Circulation, School of Culture and Tourism, School of Intelligence and Information Engineering, School of Digital Art, School of Finance and Economics, School of Humanities Education, School of Marxism and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, School of International Education.

Adhering to the open international school-running strategy of "going out and bringing in", the college has carried out cooperation and exchanges with more than 40 universities in the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Thailand, and Vietnam, and established the first overseas college- "Guihai" Business School” (Thailand Branch).

The college recruits international students for learning Chinese language, professional skills training and Chinese culture experience. Up to now, the college has recruited 512 teachers and students from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Albania, Ethiopia and other countries to study in our college. The College has carried out "Cross-border e-commerce training courses" for ASEAN partner universities at home and abroad, and the courses related to the standardized business processes of the industry have been highly recognized by the partner universities and students. As a training unit of the Ministry of Commerce's national aid projects, it has successively held foreign aid training programs such as "Jamaica Sugar Industry Technical Training Course" and "China-ASEAN Tourism Industry Cooperation Training Course", and training has been provided for more than 200 government officials and technical personnel from ASEAN and other developing countries.
