Foundation programs at China University of Petroleum (Beijing)：

Students who fail to meet the undergraduate admission standards or fail to attain the required HSK pass mark, can apply for admission to preparatory courses (Arts and Sciences), which are divided into intensive courses and ordinary courses.

Class Arrangement:

Intensive class:one semester. 36 class hours per week (Monday to Friday-whole day)

Curriculum:

In accordance with the admission standards of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) for international students in China, the corresponding
curriculum is as follows:
Liberal arts major: Chinese, mathematics, English, History, Geography, Physical Education, Orientation for further education.
Science Major: Chinese, Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry / Biology, Physical education, Orientation for further education.

Completion and admission

Intensive class (liberal arts and Science): Upon completion, students who pass the course examination and meet all the standards will be issued the China
University of Petroleum (Beijing) preparatory Course Certificate. Students who pass all subjects and with good moral character can directly progress to China
University of Petroleum (Beijing) undergraduate related majors.

Intensive class: One semester: November, 1st – February, 1st of the next year(Spring enrolment)
November 1st - August 15th of the next year(Autumn enrolment)

Application fee: RMB 400 or USD 70 Campus accommodation fee: 1200 to 1500 RMB per month per person (Depending on the room type)

If both or one of the parents is a Chinese citizen and resides in a foreign country, and the applicant who wants to come to China as a foreign student for undergraduate study has foreign nationality by birth, then the applicant must have a record of actual residence in a foreign country for more than 2 years within the last 4 years (as of April 30, 2024). (Nine (9) months of actual residence in a foreign
country can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit seal stamps). If a Chinese citizen after emigrating abroad applies to come to China as a foreign student for undergraduate study, then they shall hold a valid foreign passport or certificate of nationality for more than 4 years, and a record of actual residence in a foreign country for more than 2 years within the last 4 years (as of April 30, 2024). (Nine (9) months of actual residence in a foreign country can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit seal stamps).

4. Transfer certificate issued by the original school

Transfer students within China need to provide.

5. Guardian authorization certificate (Only required by applicants under the age of 18)

6. Visa pages (scanned copies of all China visa pages and entry-exit records)

13. Certificate of creditworthiness

Transfer students within China need to provide.
The funding requirement shall be calculated according to the annual basic expenses (tuition, accommodation, living expenses, insurance, etc.) of the program. The total amount of credit on creditworthiness certificate per program shall be more than 39000 RMB. It is required to deposit the corresponding amount in its own account for at least 1 month. In case another person ’ s account is used, it is required to provide a certificate justifying the relationship between the applicant and the account owner. At the same time, the certificate should be notarized by local authorities and verified by a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad.
