Entry Requirements
Applicants must have attained a Bachelor's degree or above.
(Applicants with related degrees or with evidence of excellent study and research ability in linguistics and social sciences are more eligible.)
Applicants should submit the language certificate and score report, such as IELTS (overall 6.5 or above) or TOEFL (no less than 90 scores).
Applicants who are native English speakers or previously have graduated from a English-instructed program (with proof) are exempt from this requirement;

2. Catalogue and abstract of published papers, or other documents that can prove academic ability

*4. Diploma of the highest degree conferred or proof of impending graduation(for applicants in their final year of study).
The document must be original or notarized copy, and should be attached with notarized Chinese or English translation if the original one is not in Chinese or English.

*8. Writing sample (approximately 2000 words).
Applicants need to submit at least one writing sample (around 2000 words) to show their ability of academic writing. The topic of this paper does not have to be related to Chinese language and literature.

Photocopy of valid passport identification page. Passport must be an ordinary one and be valid until Sep. 30, 2022. Applicants currently residing in China also need to provide a copy of the page containing a valid visa or residence permit.

*12. Two recommendation letters
Applicants should submit recommendation letters from at least two professors in related disciplines.
*13. Statement of Purpose
It requires one or two pages. The content should include (but not limited to) the reasons for applying for this program, study and work experience, academic achievement, expected research proposal, and career plan after graduation, etc.
14. Completely filled Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
The form should be filled out in Chinese or English.the report is valid for six months. Applicants currently residing in China may submit Residence Permit or Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card in substitute for Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
