Program Description
Content Course
*Note:
1. "Lecture Series on Chinese Economy and Society" is a course of 2 credits. Please note that these lectures are part of the summer camp organized by the School of Economics. Therefore the number of summer session students that can enroll in this course is limited (around 20). All the lectures of the course will start on July 15 and finish on July 26. Summer session students who choose the course should participate in all the lectures while the visits and activities of the camp are not open to summer session students. Choosing this option means no enrollment in any other content or language course of the summer session due to time conflict.
2. The Chinese language course is for students holding foreign passports only.
Opening & Closing Ceremony
As the host university Fudan holds various activities to welcome and prepare the students for their four-week life at the Summer Session including the opening ceremony and welcome party. At the opening ceremony the students will be given an introduction of the program as well as plenty of useful information and tips in terms of both academic and leisure life on campus.
Following the official opening is a welcome party where students will be grouped to get to know each other through ice-breaking, games and performances.
There will also be a wonderful closing ceremony and farewell party or dinner at the end of the Summer Session. Students will enjoy the night with the professors and the friends made during the program.
Campus Cultural Activities
Experiencing something and hearing about something are totally different things. The Summer Session also provides abundant cultural activities that enable students to have a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture and traditions.
Calligraphy, martial arts, folk dance and Taichi, etc., are available for students to sign up and participate in.
Cultural Visits
Off campus life is also a very important part of students’ experience in Shanghai. Fudan International Summer Session will organize various activities for the students.
Entry Requirements
- 1. College students above 18 years of age.
- 2. The general state of the applicant's health should be good enough for him/her to pursue the course of study at Fudan.
- 3. One copy of TOEFL iBT (a score of 85 or above)/IELTS (a score of 6.5 or above), or other materials proving a corresponding level of English. Native English-speakers or college students taking an English-taught program are exempted from this requirement.
