Overview

This course offers interactive lectures and case-study workshops to develop students’ability to interpret, critically analyze, reason and deliver practical solutions to legal problems so that they become an articulate communicator, and confident in their understanding of legal principles and their relevance to business and community. It also develops the students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to act ethically, and sense of community and professional responsibility.

Modules

Students need to obtain 154.5 credits in total, of which 129.5 for in-class courses and 25 for community immersion, computer skill test and thesis.

Career Paths

This law degree opens the door to a wide range of rewarding careers. Graduates will 9 / 11 be provided with a solid foundation and preparation for a range of legal or legal related profession, including those in enterprises, financial and securities institutions,accounting firms and law firms. 

In order to be considered for admission, you must:

be a non-Chinese citizen, 18-45 years old, in good health, AND

have completed senior high school education or will receive by the summer before matriculation at SUFE in September 2023, a high school diploma.

Chinese Language Proficiency

Chinese is the language of instruction when you come to study undergraduate programs at SUFE. Your lectures, tutorials, exams, class discussions and thesis writing will be in Chinese. Given this, an adequate level of proficiency in Chinese must be demonstrated for admission.

Acceptable Chinese proficiency test scores and minimum requirements

  * The validity of HSK is two years.

An applicant who has immigrated from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to another country should also submit one copy of certificate of naturalization, canceling the formal household registration in China, continuous residence in the current country for at least two years in the past four years. All the documents should be certified and translated (if documents are nor in English or Chinese) by an authorized person.

*7. Academic transcript certified (and translated if documents are nor in English or Chinese) by an authorized person.

*8. Senior high school diploma certified (and translated if documents are nor in English or Chinese) by an authorized person.

Applicants who will graduate in 2021 need to submit a pre-graduation certificate.

10. Supporting Documents: Certificate of Good Conduct

Provided by your current/previous school/company in Chinese/English to improve your success rate.

11. Certificates of nationality

Canceling the formal household registration in China, continuous residence in a foreign country for more than two years in the past four years (30th April 2017 - 30th April 2021). (required for an applicant who has immigrated from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to another country, an applicant who has acquired foreign nationality by birth but has studied at Chinese primary and secondary schools and has at least one parent who is Chinese. The later one does not need to present proof for canceling the formal household registration in China.) All the documents should be certified (and translated if documents are nor in English or Chinese) by an authorized person.
