3.Faculty Introduction

Editor Notes: The School of Computer Science and Technology is the prominent faculty in SWUST, and has sufficient teaching resources. 

School of Computer Science and Technology places emphasis on the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality and adaptation to the development of computer technology and the requirements of society initially, not only cooperate with domestic large enterprises and research institutions but also take international (ACM/IEEE) computer education research as reference. 

School of computer science and technology SWUST was founded in 1994, we have four undergraduate majors as software engineering, computer science and technology, information security and medical imaging technology. The first-grade discipline of master of computer science and technology and software engineering, the second-grade discipline of master of education technology and master of engineering of computer technology.

Our school has open experimental innovation platforms such as " Sichuan provincial demonstration Center of experimental teaching" for computer application, "8111 brands" for software innovation, and first-class research platforms as Sichuan provincial internet health service engineering laboratory, Sichuan provincial university key laboratory of intelligent electrical appliance and intelligent system, Mianyang network convergence engineering laboratory and Mianyang cyberspace security key laboratory.

Our school has 132 professional teachers, including 15 professors, 35 associate professors, 34 teachers with doctor’s degrees, and 87 members of China computer Federation. We have nine teaching and research groups which are computer software and theory, embedded technology, information security, knowledge engineering and education technology, computer architecture, networks and high-performance computing, machinery vision, virtual reality, medical imaging technology. Established close academic communications and talent exchanging with famous universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, and Japan.

The Southwest University of Science and Technology(SWUST) is located in the city of Mianyang, the unique science and technology city in China, Sichuan Province. The university is a full-time multi-disciplinary university with over 60 years of education. It is an institution of higher education co-supported and administered by the People's Government of Sichuan, Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China(MOE), and Ministry of Industry and Information of the People’s Republic of China. It is one of 14 key universities receiving State’s special support in western China as well as one of the pilot modern distance education universities in China.
