Program Highlights
- Practice feature in the course establishment, Chinese oral and writing practice training are highlighted In the course establishment, and six practice lessons are opened on which students can practice their HSK, Reading and recitation, Presentation, Debate Competition and different styles writing.
- Lay stress on both theory and practice. In the course, we opened basic theoretical courses like Introduction to Linguistics, foreign language teaching Introduction，linguistic theory project Selected lectures. Modern Chinese Special Topic of Grammar and Rhetoric philology etc. Practice is also valued, Chinese newspaper selected readings, Wrong Chinese Sentences analysis are also opened to the students.
- Pay attention to the study of Chinese culture. Learn Chinese must learn Chinese culture, you will not recognize the daily life of China if you do not understand Chinese culture. This course opened An Introduction to Chinese Culture, Chinese ideological history, Northwest Sichuan culture, intercultural comparison, Intercultural Communication, traditional Chinese instrumental music skills, Chinese writing, Chinese painting etc. In order to promote students In-depth understanding Chinese culture then deeply learned their specialized courses.

1. Brief Introduction to SWUST Scholarship
- Scholarship Name: Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST) Scholarship
- Quota: All students who apply this program may apply for the Scholarship, however Southwest University of Science and Technology（SWUST）has the power to make the decision on granting the Scholarship Category (see below).
- Application Deadline: 30 Dec.2015 for Spring semester of 2016; 30 May.2016 for Autumn semester of 2016.
- Service fee: CUCAS will charge students who successfully get the scholarship service fee according to the Scholarship Category he/she is granted. All scholarship applicants will pay $500 as service fee, then CUCAS will refund both the application fee and service fee they paid to students who failed to get the scholarship.

Program Description
1. Teaching aims

- Turn to be a compound talent with the cultivate aesthetic awareness, higher artistic sentiment and the skill of some traditional Chinese arts.

3. Course Arrangement
Course arrangement mainly bases on general education and professional basic courses, combining specialized theoretical courses and practice, making students understand Chinese theoretical knowledge and strengthening their Chinese application ability.

This major has a good career prospects. After graduating,students could take on occupation which relates to Chinese teaching, some places such as government,industries,institutations and somewhere Chinese need to apply.
5. Degree Identification
Students will be acquired the Bachelor of Arts through systematic studying,completing courses and passing the thesis oral defence.

In the middle of the study at the university.students will be sent to middle school, enterprise and public institution, Chinese training institution for a internship.
