Program Description

1. Objective

Editor Notes: This one-academic-year learning lays a good foundation for furthering students' Chinese study in the following aspects.

To enable students to have a good pronunciation in speaking Mandarin Chinese.
To enable students to exchange information in simple but accurate Chinese on some basic topics.
To enable students to have a good command of 2500-3000 Chinese characters.
To enable students to read and understand the dialogues, short passages, etc.
To enable students to write simple passages in Chinese.

3. Schedule

Duration: one year
4-hours class every morning through Monday to Friday, 20 hours in total each week.
2 hours for Comprehensive Chinese class, 2 hours for Spoken Chinese or listening class every morning. 1 hour for Chinese character class every afternoon.
Selected course in the afternoon includes Chinese cultural activities and Chinese tutorial classes.
