Shuoba! courses are all encompassing in nature, which means that students will learn to listen, speak, read and write, with particular emphasis on oral skills. The following are further details of our courses

• Flexible schedule/ Personal schedule
  which means you can create your own study schedule based on your study objectives and around your other commitments.
• Optional class size
  which means you can choose to take Private Classes or Small Group Classes. As for Small Group Classes, there are 2 to 3 students in a class, which allows for sufficient time for students to practice listening and speaking with their classmates and teachers, and allows teachers to pay more attention to their students.
• Free online course
  We offer free online lessons for all of our students who take the Shuoba! course. Students can review these online lessons at anytime of the day. Through these online lessons, the students will learn up to 70% of what they will learn in the classroom, which leaves more classroom time for the teacher to go over the lesson in greater detail, focusing on the problems the student may have and the practical application of the Chinese language.
• Detailed Chinese proficiency levels
  Shuoba! has developed 4 Chinese proficiency levels (4S): Start level, Sprint level, Stroll level and Stride level. These 4 proficiency levels are further divided into 20 minor levels, which correspond to the new HSK levels.
• Other course/ activities: Chinatown, Shuoba! Movie Club, Shuoba! Social club, etc.
• Local services: City tours, Culture experiences, etc.

START level: Capable of using Chinese to conduct fundamental social intercourse in their daily life, school or workplace. For example, read a simple restaurant menu, greet and enquire, etc, mastering frequently used vocabulary and sentence structures.

SPRINT level: Capable of using Chinese to conduct general social intercourse in their daily life, school or workplace; able to converse with local Chinese on a range of topics with very little difficulty.

STROLL level: Capable of using Chinese to conduct more complex social intercourse in their daily life, school or workplace. For example, read Chinese newspapers and periodicals, appreciate Chinese films and television, deliver a complete speech etc.

STRIDE level: Almost native speaker level, one can express his own ideas easily, analyse and comment on social events and express the written language by using profound language and technical terms.

Free online course and Intensive/Expansion classes

One-hour of self-learning, online multi-media class ensures that students are well-prepared before classes. This is followed by two hours of face to face intensive and expansion classes, which enhance the learning experience. In the intensive class, the main vocabulary and grammar are explained in detail and practiced repeatedly, ensuring that the students are able to grasp all the knowledge that they have studied and become adept in the exact application of what they have learnt. In the expansion course the teachers will augment the vocabulary, build on the foundation of the knowledge gained from the multi-media lessons, revising and building upon the knowledge learnt from the intensive teaching, in order that the students have a thorough understanding of the language and achieve the aim of becoming fluent.
