The major aims to cultivate high-quality dental professionals who master the basic knowledge, theories and skills of basic medicine and clinical medicine, have professional knowledge and skills of dentistry, and are capable of diagnosis and treatment of common dental diseases. The main courses include Introduction of Dentistry, Dental Biology, Dental Anatomy and Physiology, Dental Histopathology, Imaging Diagnosis of Dental and Maxillofacial Medicine, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, Periodontal Disease, Dental Mucosal Diseases, Pediatric Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Preventive Dentistry, Dental Materials Science, Geriatric Dentistry, Dental Equipment, etc.. The duration of study is six years including one year of internship. International students will be awarded the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).

Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens, over the age of 18 and under 30, senior high school graduates or above with good academic performace, in good health and qualified for university application.

If both parents or one of the parents of the applicant are Chinese citizens and reside in a foreign country, the applicant should have foreign nationality at birth and hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 4 years. In addition, a record of more than 2 years of actual residence in a foreign country in the last 4 years (by April 30, 2023) is also needed. For people immigrating from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to foreign countries and are applying as international students, please refer to the requirements above.

Applicant’s language proficiency must meet the following requirements:

1. Basic understanding of Chinese. Applicants should provide the certificate of basic Chinese learning, such as training certificate, HSK certificate, etc.. Those without any Chinese language background must attend the Chinese training organized by the University before the enrollment;

2. Applicants from non-English-speaking countries must reach a score above 80 in TOEFL (15 or above for each item) or 6.0 in IELTS (5.5 or above for each item); or provide other comparable certificates proving English proficiency. Applicants from English-speaking countries or receiving the last degree with the instruction in English are exempt from submitting the English proficiency certificates, but the certificate of English medium issued by the school graduated from shall be provided.

2. Original Authorization to the Guardian

For self-supporting applicants under the age of 18 by September 1, 2022) needs to be notarized with signatures. If not notarized in China, the endorsement of local Chinese Embassy is required.
Guardians shall be Chinese or foreign adults who reside in China with stable source of income.
Graduation certificate and transcript should be notarized.
The University will request for supplementary materials when necessary.

*6. Financial Support Guarantee Statement

Financial Support Guarantee Statement and scanned copies of its supporting documents completed in Chinese or English, certifying that the applicant has sufficient funds to cover his or her tuition, accommodation, living expenses and international travels during his or her study in China. The minimum amount of funding required is RMB 150,000. Only one’s relatives can act as his or her financial sponsor. The Statement should be accompanied by a scanned copy of the financial sponsor’s valid passport or identification certificate (self-supporting applicants should submit this statement).
