1. With the studying period of 1 year,students will not only have a good grasp of spelling & pronunciation ofChinese phonetic alphabet, 1500 commonly-used words and 180 linguisticknowledge, but also be equipped with abilities to communicate in Chinese, toapply the gained knowledge to solve basic problems in daily life.
2. A series of courses of Chinese language,optional courses themed Chinese culture and linguistics are provided; there arefree pre-exam auxiliary classes for students and they will surely pass the HSK4through two terms study.
3. Students who perform well during theprogram will gain a priority in CSC scholarship recommendation.
The international education college of CUG accepts international students for full-time undergraduate program from allover the world. The program adopts small-class teaching, with about 20 studentsin each class. Three levels of courses (primary level, primary-intermediatelevel and intermediate level) are offered according to the scores of the Chinesegrouping test. The course length, which is routinely one semester or one schoolyear with 4 class hours each day and 20 per week, can be extended, as appropriate,to no more than 4 semesters. The certificate and transcript will be issued atthe end of the studying period.
To encourage students to learn more about Chinesehistory and culture, the international education college provides optionalcourses featuring in CUG’s subject characteristics such as “Chinese tourism andintangible cultural heritage”, “Geology and geography in China”, “Multiculturalunderstanding” and “Chinese culture and history”, as well as the language &culture practice activities such as calligraphy, paper-cutting, tea art andseal-cutting. Meanwhile, to ensure efficient teaching and learning, the pre-examauxiliary classes of HSK are provided for free, which is flexible for studentsto choose.
There are elementary class and intermediate class for international students to study. Students are arranged to suitable class according to their Chinese language proficiency.
