The Department of Construction Management is part of the School of Civil Engineering that is one of China's leading institutions for teaching and research. The School has international profile with leading researchers working across many disciplines. The Master of Engineering in International Construction Project Management (ICPM) program aims to broaden and deepen students' knowledge of contemporary issues in the leadership, strategic management, and delivery of international projects to provide value to stakeholders and society as a whole. The unique characteristic of this program is to expose students to a new way of thinking, and to create awareness of how Chinese organizations operate, manage, and delivery projects in the fast-changing world. The program is practice-oriented. Students will be taught to think creatively, to be innovative with new ideas, and to use tools and techniques for effective management of projects. Students will be taught about problem solving, leadership, and the exploitation of technology. The ICPM puts China into the context of the global construction market (infrastructure, residential, healthcare, education, commercial, public and private projects). The Logic of ICPM Education

ICPM Framework

The program is usually completed in 1.5-2 years. Students are required to complete a minimum of 25 credit hours of course work, as well as a master thesis for a degree in master of engineering. Students who have met all pertinent graduation requirements are awarded a certificate of graduation entitled the Mater of Engineering.

1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport.

2) Applicant should have a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent degree to a Bachelor's Degree (or above).  

3) Applicants should be in good health and of good character, be well-behaved and be willing to abide by China's laws and regulations, as well as Tsinghua’s rules.

4) Language competence requirements:

The applicants' English proficiency for the English program should meet IELTS 6.5/TOEFL 85

Individuals who previously held Chinese nationality and subsequently acquired foreign nationality are required to provide either a Certificate of Cancellation of Chinese Household Registration (Hukou) or a Certificate of Renunciation of Chinese Nationality, or a Certificate of Non-Chinese Nationality issued by a Chinese diplomatic mission/consulate.

A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant.

*4. English proficiency test certificate

For example, IELTS or TOEFL, only for applicant whose native language is not English.

*5. Two academic recommendation letters

Two academic recommendation letters from scholars who hold the title of associate professor or higher, or senior professionals in a related academic field.

In English or Chinese.

*7. Undergraduate school transcript

Master's degree program applicants should submit the academic transcript of their undergraduate study. Applicants who will not graduate before the application deadline shall provide their current academic transcript.In this case,the completed academic transcript must be submitted before registration.
All uploaded documents should be in Chinese or in English; otherwise notarial translations in Chinese or English are required. Once translated, the original documents and certified translations should be submitted together to the application system.

Master’s degree program applicants should submit a bachelor’s degree certificate. Those who have not graduated yet must provide a proof of education in current academic institution.
