Aim:
As a key specializationof national level, TransportManagement of SMU features an emphasis on students’ practical skillsand innovation capabilities, which allows them to work on public management, organization and management of multi-modal transport, international shipping management, and others. Upon completing the program, students should be familiar with the basic knowledge of international shipping and policies, public management, international transportation laws and regulations, shipping management theories and methods, international transportation business and practices. Students should also demonstrate innovative and entrepreneurship abilities that allow them perform proper roles in international shipping companies, government agencies, and scientific research institutes and maintain sustainable personal development in the constantly changing maritime field, .
Requirements
In addition to systematical mastering of management principles, economics, maritime cargo transportation management, cargo safety management and international trade, the students will comprehensively study shipping public ethics, shipping public policy, international shipping management, liner / charter transportation theory and practice, container terminal business and management,multi-modal transport organization and management, international shipping trade, shipping derivatives and risk management.. Successful graduates are expected to attain the abilities senior international shipping management talents should possess to solve practical management problems .
