There is no airport in Kaifeng, yet it is only 70km away from Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport. It is convenient for passengers to go to Zhengzhou Airport from Kaifeng.
Situated at the plain of eastern Henan Province, Kaifeng has a temperate continental monsoon climate of four distinctive seasons, plentiful sunshine, warm weather and moderate rainfall. The annual average temperature is about 14 ℃ (57 ℉) and the annual average rainfall is about 670 mm. For the best travel seasons, we recommended September and October, during which the weather there is the most pleasant and the City welcomes her most beautiful event: the Chrysanthemum Fair.
Kaifeng City was established more than 2700 years ago and today is considered one of the seven ancient capitals of China. During the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), it was the political, economic and cultural center for all of China, and this elevated the city to the stature of an international metropolis. Influences of later dynasties still remain in the various cultural relics and historic sites and the visitor to Kaifeng will have much to see and do. The downtown tourist area is divided into two parts (North and South) by Daliang Road, which runs east to west.
