Huainan enjoys a subtropical monsoon climate with relatively moderate weather and abundant sunshine.
The rainfall is mostly in summer. The rainy season will be from June to July, which sometimes can last almost about 20 days.
Autumn is cool and somewhat humid.
Winter is long,windy and chilly.
As there is no airport in Huainan itself, the railway networks are the most important transportation method. Huainan is a large coal production city. The railway transportation network connects with the Jingjiu railway and Jinghu railway running through Huainan. There are at most 72 passenger transport trains stopping at the Huainan railway station every day. Now there is only one train to Shanghai from here. The rest are trains stopping by the station. Therefore, passengers have to enter the station in advance.
Tourist buses, link buses and urban buses are all available in the city. It is very convenient and quick to take buses in the urban areas. The operating hours are from five o’clock in the morning to nine o’clock in the evening.
Bagong Mountain is also a sacred place, as it is not only a famous tourist zone in Huainan but also a national geo-park, consisting of some forty peaks and many historical sites, including ancient battlefield, private garden, old temple, pagoda and nunnery.
The main landscape of the park is forest, but it also contains a great deal of historical and religious sites, such as the ancient temple built in Jin and Ming dynasties, cliff side inscriptions, caves, and stone bridges.
