Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is about 28 kilometers from the city center. It is one of the three busiest air transportation hubs in China. Major cities worldwide can be reached in 15 hours from Guangzhou. The airport's flight network covers South and Southeast Asian countries including Vietnam, Laos, Burma, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. In addition, there are flights to Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul and Lagos. Baiyun Airport boasts very convenient ground transportation system. This system is mainly made up of taxis, six airport express bus lines (Line1, Line2A, Line2B, Line3, Line4 and Line11), nine airport shuttle bus lines (Line5, Line6A, Line6B, Line7A, Line7B, Line8A, Line8B, Line9 and Line10), and frequent airport intercity bus between the city and other cities in Guangdong Privince.

Guangzhou has three railway stations handling passenger transport. The Railway Station at Huanshi Road is the largest and the most important one, operating trains between the city and Beijing, Wuhan, Nanjing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xian, Lhasa and many other China cities. The East Railway Station (Tianhe Railway Station) mainly provides trains to Hong Kong and frequent bullet trains between to Shenzhen. The North Railway Station in Huadu District is a small station mainly operating bullet trains between the city and Wuhan.  Train Schedule  Guangzhou Railway Station  East Railway Station  North Railway Station  South Railway Station  

There are more than 500 bus lines opening in the city. 80% of the city-buses are equipped with air-conditioner. The public bus charges CNY1 to CNY2.

There are eight subway lines used in the city at present. The subway utilizes a stage fare system. The longer the journey the more you pay. A taxi charges CNY 7 for the first 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles), and CNY2.6 for succeeding kilometers. Moreover CNY1 is claimed as the fuel surcharge.

Guangzhou weather is generally warm and humid all year round without a clear division between the four seasons. It has a humid subtropical monsoon climate, characterized by warm winters, hot summers, little frost and snow, sufficient rain and sunshine. A yearly average 21 - 29 °C (70 - 84 °F) makes it a fabulous destination for traveling. However, the humid and hot weather is exhausting for tourists. Furthermore, the solar radiation is quite high, so it is recommended to make good preparation for sunburn prevention. Since there will be drizzles from time to time in spring, autumn especially late September to early December is recommended as the best time to visit the city.

Spring Spring is from February to March. The temperature rises gradually, but there can be sudden drizzle. You'd better take your sweater and light clothes in this season. The spring China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) is usually held from April to May. Summer Guangzhou’s summer, April to September, is relatively long, with the hottest temperature in July and August. There will be occasional typhoons and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, so it is strongly recommended to be prepared for the rain. 

Autumn Autumn days in Guangzhou, October to November, are mainly sunny and cool. This  is the best time for traveling there. To visit the place in autumn, you just have to bring light clothing such as long-sleeved shirts or T-shirts, plus one or two thin coats and sweaters. Winter Guangzhou has a short winter from December to January. It is a little chilly but with a little frost and snow, and sweaters and thick jackets are enough for this season. Guangzhou quite different from the North China, the city becomes a sea of flowers during this period. It is an excellent time for the flower-lovers to visit.

Except the plane and the stool, Guangzhou people eat everything in the sky and on the earth.' From this common saying, we can get some ideas of the variety of Guangzhou's delicacies. Guangzhou delicacies are the main representatives of Yue Cai (Cantonese Cuisine). This kind of cuisine uses a wide range of ingredients from the sky, the earth, and the water. They also use seasonings sparingly. Compared with other Chinese cuisines, these local dishes use few thick spicy dressings in order to keep from masking the original taste of the food.

Shuang Pi Nai (Double-Skin Milk): Nanxin Shuang Pi Nai is the specialty of Nanxin Milk Store on the Xia Jiu Lu. Simmered milk has a frozen cover made of the mixture of egg white and milk, Hence the name Double-Skin Milk. When finished, this food appears to be pure white and semisolid. It tastes soft and sweet. And most importantly, it has much nutritional value, good for your health.

Yuntun Mian (Wonton Noodle): Go to Shangxia Jiu Lu, Xihua Lu and Renmin Lu, you will find many eateries that serve Wonton Noodles. Cantonese like to have the delicious Yuntun Miao for breakfast.

Gongfu Cha (Gongfu Tea): Cantonese drink Gongfu Tea for enjoyment in their leisure time. It was popular in the Chaozhou and Shantou areas, and now has spread in Guangzhou. Serving Guangfu Tea requires strict attention to the teapot, tea leaves, the water quality and even how to make the tea, how to pour and how to drink the tea. The teapot in use is as small as a fist and the teacup as small as half a Pingpong ball. Give it a try!

It is the largest park in the city, gets its name from Yuexiu Mountain, which is located in the park. Yuexiu Park is famous for its beautiful scenery and its large number of historical relics such as the Five-Ram Sculpture, Zhenhai Tower, the site of the Ming Dynasty City Wall, and the Square Cannon Site. You can get to the park by taking bus No. 2, 5, 6, 10, 58, or 101.

The Pearl River flows through Guangzhou City. At evening, taking a boat tour on the river to admire the breathtaking night view of the city is a great enjoyment.

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is the most important relic in Guangdong Province. It was built for Dr. Sun Yat-sen after his death in 1925. It was completed in October of 1931.
