Fuzhou Changle International Airport (FOC) is situated in a sandy area of southeast Zhanggang Town, Changle City, some 50 kilometers (about 31 miles) from the city center, and is a modern, seashore based International airport. There are now more than 80 domestic and international airlines to approximately 55 cities.
The Fuzhou subway will consist of seven lines in a ‘circular combining radial’ overall structure. Lines 1 and 2 will form the ‘+' shaped urban rail skeleton. Lines 4, 5, 6 and the urban section of line 3, will form the basic urban rail network. Lines 7 and 5 will travel across the Minjiang River, and line 4 will run across the Wujiang River.
It is very convenient for tourists to go around the downtown area by bus. The ticket price is CNY1; tourists should ensure they have small change prior to boarding, the price increases to CNY2 from May 15th to Oct 15th if the bus is operating its air conditioning.
Fuzhou, bordering the East China Sea, has a warm and humid sub-tropical monsoon climate with abundant rainfall. Fuzhou weather is mild and the annual average temperatur is about 19.6C (67.28F). Weather in spring is changeable and rainy. Tourists will require a knitted sweater or jacket. During May to September is the summer season of Fuzhou, it is sunny and hot for the main with a peak temperatures between July and August, tourists should wear well ventilate clothing. Also June, July and August is the typhoon season, and as such is prone to heavily rain and storms which is not the ideal time for visiting. Unlined garments or a thin sweater are sufficient in the fall, from October to November in Fuzhou.
Fo Tiao Qiang (Buddha Jumps over the Wall), with more than 100 year's history, is a traditional Min Cuisine recipe. It is said to have been created by the wife of a Fuzhou official, who in 1876 was entertaining an important member of the Fujian Government at his home. His wife, who was an excellent cook, placed chicken, duck, pork and seafood together into an empty wine jar to simmer following a recipe which was known at the time as 'Full of Blessing and Longevity'.
The well-known Mt.Wuyi is an important sight in Wuyi Shan City, Fujian Province. There are regular buses from Nanping and Shaowu of Fujian Province and Shangrao of Jiangxi Province to Wuyi Shan daily. On the way from Mt. Wuyi to Wuyi Shan, tourists can wave down tourist buses to stop and pick them up.
Situated in the north suburb, 7 kilometers (about 4.3 miles) away from the downtown area, Fuzhou National Forest Park is one of the ten national forest parks of China. Rare animals and exotic plants, blue water, flowing waterfalls, unusual rocky outcrops and stone carvings coexist in a harmonious blend of natural and manmade sights.
